1990年代に日本の京都にある仏教大学で社会福祉学を専攻し、博士号を取得。その後、韓国に帰国し、大学で後進の育成に努めている。韓国は日本と社会的変化の様相が似ている点が多く、少子高齢社会となり、学問的に留学で先に経験したことが大きな助けとなっている。高齢者ケアおよび地域包括ケアに関する研究などを手がけている。
本セミナーが、今後学術的な交流を通じて両国が相互に発展するきっかけとなることを願っています。

社会福祉協議会や高齢者デイサービスセンター生活相談員等を経て現職。学部長。各地の地域福祉計画等の策定や現任者研修等に関わりながら、コミュニティソーシャルワークの理論と実践に関する研究を行っている。

所属：ニューサウスウェールズ大学「felt Experience and Empathy Lab (fEEL)」研究チーム及び「Big Anxiety研究所 (BARC)」の上席研究員

心理社会的デザイナー（psychosocial designer）であり、多職種チームの一員として、高齢者介護、認知症ケア、在宅ケアの分野における心理社会的支援のための没入型メディア（immersive media）やAI（人工知能）**の開発に取り組んでいる。また、当事者の体験データ（lived experience data）を活用して、AIデジタルコンパニオンのキャラクター設計や開発を進めるとともに、高齢者ケアおよび認知症ケアの現場において、その実用化に向けた反復的な実証試験を統括している。これらの研究・開発成果は、ABCテレビで紹介されたほか、AP通信のドキュメンタリーでも特集されている。

地域医療（Community medicine）に従事して33年目。プライマリ・ケア医として大学病院や僻地で研鑽を積み、2007年に在宅医療専門のつるかめ診療所を開設。東日本大震災を契機に、2013年より日本社会事業大学専門職大学院の教員となる。

サスマン博士は、高齢者とその家族を対象とした10年以上にわたる臨床経験を基盤に、学際的かつコミュニティに働きかける研究に取り組んでいます。その研究プログラムは、健康上の課題を抱える高齢者の「老い」の経験をより良いものにすること、また、高齢者が保健・医療サービスを利用する際に、どのような人々が社会的に周縁化され、リスクにさらされやすいのかを明らかにすることに焦点を当てています。近年の研究プロジェクトでは、介護（long-term care）における緩和ケア・アプローチの強化、高齢のホームレス状態にある人々に対して包摂的な居住サービスの支援、そして認知症とともに生きる人本人を、自身のケア計画の中心に据える取り組みを進めています。

Professor Cho studied social welfare at Bukkyo University in Kyoto, Japan, where he earned his doctoral degree in the 1990s. After returning to Korea, he has been dedicated to educating future social work professionals at the university level. As Korea has undergone social changes similar to those experienced in Japan, particularly rapid population aging and declining birth rates, his academic training in Japan has greatly informed his research and practice. His research focuses on older adult care and community-based integrated care.
He hopes that this seminar will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen academic exchange and promote mutual development between Japan and Korea.

Before joining the Japan College of Social Work, Professor Hishinuma worked at a Council of Social Welfare and as a social worker at a day-care center for older adults. He is Dean of the Faculty. While contributing to the development of community welfare plans and providing in-service training for practitioners throughout Japan, he conducts research on the theory and practice of community social work.

Dr. Kenning is a psychosocial designer working with a multidisciplinary team developing immersive media and AI in for psychosocial support working with older people in aged care, dementia and home care. Kenning works with lived experience data to shape the characterization and development of AI digital companions overseeing development and iterative testing in real-world environments in aged and dementia care. These have featured on ABC TV and in a dedicated Associated Press documentary.

Currently in his 33rd year of practice in community medicine. After gaining extensive clinical experience as a primary care physician at university hospitals and in medically underserved areas, he established the Tsurukame Clinic, a practice specializing in home-based medical care, in 2007. Motivated by the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, he joined the faculty of the Japan College of Social Work's practice-oriented Graduate School in 2013.

Drawing on over ten years of clinical experience working with older adults and families, Dr. Sussman's interdisciplinary, community-engaged program of research focuses on enhancing the aging experiences of older persons with health related challenges and exposing who amongst older populations are marginalized and at risk when interfacing with health services. Her recent projects have sought to strengthen palliative approaches to care in long term care, support inclusive housing practices for older homeless persons and centre persons living with dementia in their own care planning.

Since 2002, A/Prof. Takiwaki has been engaged in supporting people experiencing poverty and social exclusion in a community historically known for its concentration of day laborers, where he has developed collaborative networks with local NPOs, healthcare providers, long-term care professionals, and other community stakeholders. He also serves as a board member of the national networks of housing support organizations and organizations supporting people experiencing homelessness. In 2025, he joined the faculty of the practice-oriented Graduate School at the Japan College of Social Work.
